Old habits die hard. The B-52 had a tail gun for a long time. I'm pretty sure they went to a radar operated gun, then removed it entirely.

Yeah if I recall correctly, the B-52 tail gunners actually scored some kills during Nam. Didn't know they went to radar operation though.
